Consultation on Administration Strategy

We are proposing to update our Pension Administration Strategy (PAS) – Appendix I. The aim is to formalise the work we currently do as a fund and ensure that it is fully structured, with achievable targets. It will provide governance for both the scheme manager (Cheshire West and Chester Council, CWAC) and employers, to ensure that all duties and responsibilities are suitably met.
We have set some expectations – which are already being worked towards. They will eventually be baselined into KPI’s after the first year of measurement and feedback. However, we would look to remedy any performance related issues that go outside of the expected target at the earliest opportunity, rather than wait for the baseline to be fully realised.
The PAS is not only a way for us to measure how services are delivered it will also act as a charter that all parties agree to, in order to best serve our members. It will help us to become one of the leading Local Government Pension Funds, ensuring that members understand their pension benefits and value them all the way up to, and including, retirement.
The PAS outlines the policies and performance standards required to deliver a cost-effective and high-quality pensions administration service.

- Any other feedback
The final versions of the PAS will be subject to the outcome of a period of consultation with employers and other fund stakeholders.
