Responsible Investment Policy and Climate Change Strategy

*This consultation is now closed, thank you for your feedback*

The Cheshire Pension Fund (the Fund) is consulting on its updated Responsible Investment Policy and Climate Change Strategy and would like to hear your views.

The Responsible Investment Policy sets out the Fund’s approach to responsible investment, including the consideration of environmental, social and governance issues when making investment decisions.  It also sets out the Fund’s approach to the stewardship of its investment assets including voting on shareholder resolutions and engaging with the companies it invests in, and how it will report on its responsible investment activities.

The Climate Change Strategy sets out the Fund’s approach to managing the risks and opportunities to its investment portfolio from climate change and reflects the Fund’s view that there is a significant material risk from climate change to the value of the Fund’s investment assets that needs to be actively monitored and managed.  It also includes climate change targets that support the ambitions of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Fund’s overarching commitment to achieve a portfolio of assets with net carbon emissions by 2050.
