LGPS Central Pool Joint Committee update
The LGPS Central Joint Committee existed as a provision in the Inter-Authority Agreement between the original eight partner funds of the Central Pool (Cheshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire).
As of 1 April 2026, the original Inter-Authority Agreement has been superseded with a revised IAA, which is an agreement between the partner funds of the expanded Central Pool. The revisions to the IAA include updated governance arrangements, groups and meetings. As such, the Joint Committee no longer exists. Replacement governance, involving representation of each of the partner funds as shareholders and/or clients of the Central Pool, is now administered by the Partner Fund Support Office, hosted by the West Midlands Pension Fund. Agenda, reports and minutes of historic Joint Committee meetings will be hosted by Cheshire Pension Fund for a period of time following the Joint Committee’s replacement, and in due course will be migrated to the West Midlands Pension Fund website.

LGPS Central Limited
Cheshire Pension Fund is one of fiften LGPS Funds in the LGPS Central Pool. The other Partner Funds are: Derbyshire Pension Fund, Gloucestershire Pension Fund, Hampshire Pension Fund, Isle of Wight Pension Fund, Leicestershire Pension Fund, Nottinghamshire Pension Fund, Oxfordshire Pension Fund, Norfolk Pension Fund, Shropshire Pension Fund, Staffordshire Pension Fund, Suffolk Pension Fund, West Midlands Pension Fund, Wiltshire Pension Fund, and Worcestershire Pension Fund.
LGPS Central Limited manages the pooled assets of these Local Government Pension Scheme funds. An FCA registered company, LGPS Central Limited is owned by the Administering Authorities of its partner funds.
