Peter Raynes

Peter was re-appointed as Chairman of the Cheshire Local Pension Board in May 2018. He has extensive experience in the business and the charitable sector. He is currently Chair of the Cheshire CPRE and has been a director and trustee of the UK Shareholders Association.

By background a Chemical Engineer he also has a Diploma in Finance and Accountancy and spent the majority of his career with International Consumer Goods Groups. He was also elected for a term as a Councillor for Cheshire East Council where he was responsible for the Council’s Finance and Assets portfolio. During this period from 2011-2015 he was a member of the Cheshire Pension Committee

Outside interests including playing the cello in a number of local orchestras as well as walking and cycling.

 

 

Councillor Bissett

Councillor Robert Bissett was re-appointed as an Employer Representative to the Local Pension Board in May 2018. 

Robert is a CEO of a homeless charity and has held senior roles in the third sector for more than two decades.

In the 1990’s he served one term as an elected member of Ellesmere Port Borough Council. Robert is in his first term as a Cheshire West and Chester elected member and currently serves as Chief Whip.

Robert’s outside interests include economic history, horses and running.

Geoff Wright

Geoff was re-appointed as an Employee Representative to the Local Pension Board in May 2018.

Geoff’s background has involved working with Children and Adults both in Cheshire and in the United States. His Current Role is that of Assistant Branch Secretary for Unison which he has been enjoying for the past 8 years.  Geoff’s Substantive role is that of a support worker supporting adults with learning difficulties.

Geoff is looking forward to the challenge of being on the Pensions board and developing his knowledge.

Outside of work Geoff enjoys spending time with family, camping and trips to Italy.

 

 

Neil Harvey

Neil was re-appointed as an Employee Representative to the Local Pension Board in May 2018.

He has worked in Local Government for over 30 years and has previously held the post of Governor at a Manchester hospital within the charitable sector/NHS.

Neil is employed by Cheshire West and Chester Council within Place Operations / Environmental Commissioning.

Neil has a Diploma I Business Management and a qualified NVQ Assessor and his hobbies include swimming, walking, golf and bowling.

 

Adrienne Laing

Adrienne was re-appointed to the March 2020.

She is the Director of Operations of The Challenge Academy Trust which is a multi-academy Trust in Warrington with 10 academies across all sectors and over 7,000 pupils.  Her first career was in the logistics industry which she worked in for 10 years starting as a management trainee and rising to managing large complex logistics operations.

In 2003 she moved into school business management and has worked in maintained and foundation schools and academies both SATs and latterly in the MAT. She is an accredited SRMA and a Fellow of the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL)  and chairs the ISBL’s Advisory Panel.

Outside of work, she sings with her local Rock Choir, and enjoys both yoga and Pilates.
